Explanation:
You just use order of operations or PEMDAS
Parentheses and exponents, multiply and divide, add and subtract
So we cant mix p-5 or p+1 so there is no parentheses you can solve.
Theres no exponents to simplify.
So multiply 4(p-5) and 3(p+1)
4(p-5) = 4p-20
3(p+1) = 3p+3
Now you have 4p-20+3p+3 and now we add and subtract
4p-20+3p+3
7p-17
